Macro opportunities are everywhere today!!! Just went into the kitchen to make a coffee and saw this little fella on the back doorframe.....juvenile Garden Spider (araneus diadematis)......first of the species I`ve seen this spring too.

Excellent, even with the windy condition you did a great job. Was that with the DCR-250? If you say yes I may have to try that lens.:-)

Those are great! I love the second and third shots! How big are those hoverflies?

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Tcook, these were just taken with my normal dcr-150 lens. The Hoveflies were a lot bigger than the subjects I`d recently been shooting so it was possible to fill the frame with them. These were pretty large as far as hoverflies go, possibly the size of a wasp or small bee.
I`d love to catch some images of one hovering, but i`m not sure i`m quick enough to manage those.

Mark. These are terrific. Wonderful detail. You are really getting the hang of the macro lens.
