I just got a Targus Brand circular plorizer for my FZ7 and when I zoom in the full 12x, the pictures all come out blurry. This is not a problem at the wide end of the lens. Any ideas what could be wrong?

The only thing I can think of is that a polarizer reduces the amount of light entering the lens at least an f-stop, in a low light condition this could reduce the speed significantly enough that the image stabilization will be ineffective, a low light condition can also create a problem for the auto focus system.

No, this was a bright sunny day, outdoors.

I hastely returned the filter a few days ago. I think I will go and rebuy it and see if I can figure out the problem.

Anyhow, I SHOULD just be able to screw it on and go with no problems right? Is there something special I have to do to the camera?

I have an old 55mm polarizer I used once on my FZ7 with an adaptor. I did nothing special to the camera and did not notice any adverse effect on sharpness.
