Not much about today due to strong, cold winds and occasional showers. Typical, as I`d wanted to test a new diffuser i`d made for the fz20`s onboard flash. Fortunately I came across a few of these Woodlice to shoot a few test pics....

2nd pic.......would have been a lot better had the tail not been obscured, and the eye been focussed better, but it came out ok despite that.

Last one....this particular spider (garden spider) i`ve posted before.....its currently residing above the heating system in the kitchen. Taken with a ring flash, I think the flat light has worked well on this shot, helping capture the patterns on the abdomen very well. Only drawback is the ring flash is pretty poor when it comes to cobwebs.....the all round light tends to obscure them....hence the spider looking as though its floating :-)

I deliberately tried to balance the focus between the head and abdomen to capture the intricate patterns on the latter....hence the eyes/head not being 100% sharp....

Very nice. The wood lice (called sow bugs by me) look very good, and the spider indeed looks to be floating, which adds to the shot a bit.
