New tram is pretty neat. I took a few more but I thought the FZ20 did pretty good for just clicking away as fast as I could in auto mode. The new trams goes in a circle while going up. Forest is just amazing at top

Thanks. It was below 40 degree's and we just got outside and I was not acclimtized yet. And the birds are so independent.. just waiting was not an option so I just shot it and went on to the trails
I optimized in post and got it to look really nice though.
I want to get a better camera soon but I am still learning wit this one. I shot so many in the area and have a few hundred I am now going oveer. Clouds were at 6000 and this was about 9000

I know how those pesky branches can be, but this is still a very nice shot.

Gorgeous bird and gorgeous shot......I don't mind the branch at all, it kind of frames his head.....it's a bird in the wild after all.

Thnks. it was my first post photo and just a lucky shot. Not quite as good as one would hope, but the distance was over 50 feet and the auto focus really did a pretty good job. Cloudy skies and all... I did not have it on any specific
setting either. Auto all the way... later I played for the light and made adjustments. I guess this is why we all love cameras so much. To be able to see a photo and relive the moment... that makes it a shot for me to keep.
I am not a bird shooter per se.. I love the forest area and had some great ( though really boring to others ) scenes I just had to capture.
Anyway, I want to thank you for taking time to send your comments.

Thanks, all luck as the sky was overcast, scudding cloud cover with sun in and out and I was on auto at the time. I love digital for the fact I can experiment and take 200 shots to get a good 30-50
BTW: What is your opinion
What is the logical next step up? If I go to DSLR again ( I owned film SLR before) I might be more prepared to shoot and not rely on Auto so much. IS or VR.. right now leaning to Nikon D80

Just not sure
Pentax-Canon-Nikon-Sony. etc... so much to like
