Three yard shots. In number 2, the shadow across the legs is a fence wire close to the camera.

1. The Hairy Woodpecker wanted suet, but there was this strange animal at the base of the feeder.

2. He kept looking down at it.

3. Meanwhile, across the yard, behind flew he while I shot at she.

All shots taken while I relaxed with a beer while the wife gardened. Life is good. Except, I had to trim the bush in shot 3 in case there is a next time.

I'm amazed at how much wild life you have around you. All the pictures are nice but the colors in #3 really stand out, and I like the out of focus cardinal in flight in the background, adding color and motion, but not distracting the eye from the main subject in the foreground.

3 nice shots there Happy. The colours in shot 3 make it my favourite too.

Wait a minute...you are drinking beer while your wife works? Heh heh....

Sounds like you have a very nice yard to take photos in. )

I think trimming that one bush a good idea...hope you didn't hurt yourself... :-)

Boy if I drank and tried to take photos, I'd......well I can't, coz they say only women can multitask.

I love one, because I can see your story in that photo (apart from the beer bit).

By the way I'd leave that bush, who's it hurting after all.

Now Happy, those are good, Beer, relaxing, taking photos, wife working. Reminds me of an old series called "Life of Riley."

Thanks for looking and commenting everybody. About this enjoying a beer while the wife worked. In my defense, I was recovering from a fever and did not want to tire myself out since it was also our anniversary and we needed to go out for dinner in a bit. And the wife enjoys that yard work stuff. Therapy after sitting at a desk all week.

And I didn't trim the bush much. Just those sticks between me and the bird. They look dead anyway. I think I got the right sticks, I will know next time I take a picture there. The picture I want is the one where she sits there and he brings her a sunflower seed. She has him trained.

Very nice Happy, I agree with Hiroshi on the third one, the OOF red cardinal adds to the shot.
