I've had my DMC-LZ2 for about 18 months, but I sold it and was able to upgrade to a DMC-LZ3 for no cost, because it was on clearance.

Why did I upgrade? No cost.. and that DMC-LZ3 has the Venus image processor which is known for having disposable camera like shutter response w/ only 0.006 second shutter lag.

Well, what did I know. They took away the microphone that was available on predecessor, so while the motion picture supports 640 x 480, it has no sound!

I have seen both that model and the LZ5 for rather reasonable prices at big box stores, and the LZ5 has sound. Maybe you are still in the exchange time period?

DMC-LZ3 was on clearance for $90. I'm just at disbelief Panasonic would remove a feature like this from its predecessor.
