Brilliant shot...What were the settings used please?
I have read some members refer to "spot focus" when photographing the moon with FZ30 or FZ50...my understanding is there are only two focus modes - auto and manual...could you please clarify for me.

Thanks for the nice comments and the settings were, aperture priority f6.3 at 1/60, auto spot focus, spot metering, ISO 100, using a tripod and a TCON-17 add on lens. I always leave the noise reduction set on low
The camera has auto focus, manual focus, and macro focus but within those there are choices for the way you want the camera to select the focus point, One being spot focus in which the camera focuses on a very small central area in the shot. Useful when you shooting subjects like birds.

Thanks for your reply Ted. I am aware of the three focusing methods but am still confused as to the focus point selections. I use the FZ30 which is very similar to the FZ50. Where in the camera menu would I find and select spot focus. The manual certainly does not mention anything about it. Is this specific to the FZ50?
Has anyone had experience with the Giotto's x2 teleconverter please?
