I haven't taken a moon shot for some time and tonight was so clear and bright I just couldn't resist. This was with the FZ-50 + TCON-17 + tripod at f6.3 and 1/60.

Ted, if memory serves me, this is the best moon shot I've seen on this forum so far.

Congrats on a great shot!

Very nice Ted. Good sharp result. When I took a moon shot recently I found it difficult to PP. My normal process did not seem to improve the shot much. Can you give some details of your process ? Or do you just shoot this good straight out of the camera?

Thanks all for looking and the nice comments. There is something about the moon that every so often I just have to take some shots of it. Not all of them turn out this good, I think how clear the air is has a lot to do with how good a moon shot is.

Rafael, I applied auto levels which turned it from a yellowish color to the more white color and then , cropped, applied sharpening, applied neat image, reduced to size for posting, and then sharpened again (the amount just depends on what looks best to my eyes).

Hi Ted, this could be your next exercise:

Saturn is quite close to the earth at the moment!
