Well done getting such images as them, love the first one showing such a large scale event.

Its a sad event when it happens, but its a wonderful thing for a photographer (sounds morbid, but its true).

Them pictures really work for me, its something most people will never see, so when it does and you have your trusty camera I can imagine your heart will be pounding taking that sort of image. You never quite know whats going on and what will happen next in an event like that.

Did you keep calm? I cannot imagine watching that sort of thing with a camera in my hands.

Well, the fire had been burning for over three hours by then. I had been driving around and pulling over for fire trucks all afternoon, planning way home around street closings due to it, and considered the walk up to take pictures a bit of relaxation actually. So yes, I kept calm. I did not post shots of the crowd watching, or of the helicopters over the house (I don't think I did anyway). Although a major event, this was nothing like the fire that killed the six kids not too far away. Or any of the other killer fires we have in the city. It is all a matter of perspective I guess.
