These were taken the same time as the tennis ball shots and lack something, but what the heck, here they are.

1. Look at this, clear head and body, motion blur in the wings, you can just feel the motion of the landing.

2. What really happened: here he is taking a bath. After which he jumped up and down on the sandbar and allowed me to get a bunch of shots like the one above. I think he is scrubbing his back in this shot.

Just shows that theres sometimes more to a shot than meets the eye.....but you can`t argue with the end results....nice shots.

Nice shots, Steve. #1 he must have been bathing moments before, he sure appears to be very wet.

Darn right. I have been trying to shoot these frustrating little migratory birds. Always gloomy and I get so many blurry pictures with tele converter and slow shutter speeds. So at least now and then I go down and throw bread to the gulls, take a few non converter pictures. Just hang out. Quite often will just erase the pictures as I have so many gull shots already, but always have fun.

Less gulls lately as they go off to breed in quieter places, but we never run out.

Nice shots!!! I like the second one and if you did not know there was a sandbar there, it would be hard to know what the gull is doing!!!!

Thanks Annie. I wish that second one was good enough for a nice print. I think the gull's look is pretty neat myself.
