Took these during Labour Day. Brought my children out to cycle at a park, and later took a walk at another nature reserve. Family help me spot many insects and spiders!

FZ10+Raynox 250, F8, 1/60s (mostly), ISO50, 2 diffuse flash, handheld

Last fella was the 3rd party that kept on joining the party

Some sought of scanvenger that eats up dead insects

#6: No idea what this is



#7:Another wierd looking beetle...I call it the samurai beetle

Some weird and wonderful insects there.....curious looking beast in #6 and 7....and an interesting spider at the end (#10 and 11)....are all these insects pretty common over there Tan?

Those are great! #1 is some type of leafhopper/treehopper, I think. We have a bug that is nearly identical to that.

I am running out of things to say as all of your macros are FANTASTIC!!!! But the one of the three bugs and your comments is very cute!!!

Not all are that common, well, perhaps to qualify....not common to me at least. They could be wide spread, but its the first time I have seen #3, #6 and #7.

And thats the fun part when I go shooting.....you never know what you are going to find!

Thanks!....but my nit on the pic is that its slightly noisy in the shadows. Can't seem to remove it with neatimage.

Tan, you never stop to amaze me with your photography and unusual/rare insects. The "kidney garden spider" is amazing!
