Well I haven't had much time for shooting, but I woke up early this morning and found a few subjects.

I spotted this little flying bug hiding in the grass, I'm not sure what it is. I missed the focus a little,I wanted to get another shot butit flew away.

The wind destroyed the labyrinth spiders beautiful web, butwith the web out of the wayI was able to get closer.

It seems I can't make a post without at least one fly picture.

Nice shots Vaiboy. Not sure about the bug ID, as it`s hard to judge the angle the shots were taken at....nice images though.
I like the flattish lighting effect on the spider, suits this type of subject well i reckon. Were these taken with the new flash?

Thanks for the comments!

Mark- These were just taken with the 383, I didn't have any batteries charged for the second flash this morning. Someday I'll be able to get out there and play with the panel flash The few test shots that I have done with it are promising, nice even light, but I haven't got the feel for setting up two flashes yet.

tcook - The first bug sort ofreminds me of awinged ant, but I've never seen a winged ant with white stripes before so I'm stumped.

Thanks raf and Bill!

Breakfast, what's that? lol

Most days I wake up 2-3 hours before I have to be at work, so I spend a few minutes looking for bugs to shoot. The bugs are more docile when it's cool in the morning so it really is the best time to photograph them. At least it's cool in the morning this time of year during the summer it's over 80 degrees by 7am.

Thanks tchuanye!

I saw another one of the "unidentified flying insects" this morning. Turns out it's a sawfly.
