Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's in the group.

First shot a bit fuzzy. Slow shutter and rain. But it is a shot I will probably never get again and it fits the day.

Mother's are protective.

The goose and chick is an excellent shot. The killdeer shot is a challenge in most conditions. Here they like shell roadsides or what have you in which to hide. The white backgound of the shell is extremely hard to get the white balance right, and they don't wait on you. Have you watched them when they try to divert you from their nest?

When I was younger the ones by the house did that diversion act. These have not done it for me, but they do try and divert the Green Herons, Crows and gulls, all of which liver near where these guys breed. Not overly well though since there is only one chick.

Like the goose shot. Could be labelled the protective Mum.
