Thanks for the possible ID vaiboy, i`ll try and confirm ID of the fly over the weekend. Thanks also Steve and Rafael. Steve, i`ve no idea why they blow "bubbles" with their mouthparts, its something thats puzzled me too. I may have to try and research that also. If i get an answer i`ll post on here. Thanks for all the feedback everyone.

Just had a search online and the fly in shot 2 is indeed a species of Dance fly... Empis Tessellata so thanks again vaiboy for the tipoff re ID.
