Sometimes I get shots of birds doing something other then eating or sitting on the branch in what is pretty much a standard pose. Here are three I hope you enjoy.

Common Yellowthroat doing a pull-up.

Here is male House Sparrow after a nice bath.

A Palm Warbler primping

The little white lines on the top of the Palm Warbler's head are new feathers coming in. I think he was an itchy bird when I came across him.

Steve,

Love the bad hair day on the house sparrow. The palm warbler is an awesome shot. Great detail and as you say not your average pose.

Steve, the "bad hair day sparrow" and especially the Palm Warbler are real nice shots.

I liked them all Steve but that second one really gave me a chuckle.

All 3 are great, but #2 & #3 are exceptional. Nice Steve. Always love to see your bird photos. Haven't had much time for photos, lately.

Thanks for commenting everybody. I wish picture one was a sharper one. I have sharper ones of that species being normal, but even sharp they look weird because of the Lone Ranger mask. That Palm Warbler I took awhile back and is one of my favorites, but that bedraggled sparrow is right up there. Those two did not take much patience though. The warbler just plopped into the tree next to me and started preening, and the sparrow was just there as I took a walk around a pond.

All 3 are nice shots and a bit different from the norm. Love the bedraggled sparrow
