Last week I posted Birds Being Birds. One of the shots in that set was a scruffy wet male House Sparrow and some thought he was cute. So today I found a young sparrow bathing and thought it worth sharing. There are two ways to tell this bird is young. The first and usual way is the yellow at the base of the beak. The other is the muddy face from sticking his face all the way to the bottom of the puddle to come away from the bath dirtier then when he or she started. Any parent knows that's a kid thing. Probably a boy bird from the mess.

Oh yeah, I forgot; another way to tell they are young is they don't know to fly off when you get close.

Thanks for looking and commenting, and Rafael also.

I think they are so cute when all wet and ruffled like that. Good catch.
