All taken in my garden over the last few days....

#1 Silver Y Moth

#2 closeup of same Moth..

#3 Unknown Beetle

#4 Fly down by the pond...

#5 Another species of Moth (unknown)which turned up in the house one night...

#6....lots of these female Wolf Spiders in the garden at present, laden down with their mobile egg sacks - they dont make nests for their eggs they carry them everywhere with them....

#7 Picture winged Fly....couldnt get a better angle on this one but pleased with how the shot came out...

#8 Tiny leafhopper....I was surprised how well this came out considering the size of the subject....

Another amazing set Mark, especially like the fly shot.

How close are you when you are taking the shots, as most of my subjects seem to be a bit camera shy and move off before I can get close enough even with macro lenses!

Thanks Tony. The dcr150 lens focusses constantly around 8 inches from the subject. If the insects wont let you approach close enough, try shooting either early in the morning or on a cool day.....at both times insects are more sluggish and will tolerate a close approach. The Damselfly pics I posted the other day were taken in dull cool conditions and this allowed me to get way closer than I would be able to normally when theyre more active.
