We went a few days ago to get a look at the synchronous fireflies at Elkmont in the Natl Park. The only other documented location for them is in Thailand. They will be there but only for a few more days as mating season will be overif anyone is in the area and interested. I couldn't get any good bug shots but some landscape picsthat I wanted to share. You all are great for constructive criticism.

Very nice pics. We're here in TN right now on vacation also. Hike to Abrams Falls if you have a chance. It's a wonderfull hike and the falls are spectacular. We're off to Clingmans Dome tommorrow.

Thanks for sharing your pictures.

We actually live nearby, but hadn't seen the fireflies before this week.We have done quite a few of the hikes. Clingmans Dome is also nice and are still trying to time it right to catch it at sunrise or sunset. If you have more time and haven't yet check out Cades Cove in Townsend. I think it is prettiest early in the morning not to mention much less busy. We also liked Cataloochee (NC side of the park) as there are almost always elk now to be seen. Enjoy the rest of your trip and thanks for the comments!

Lovely series, #3 & #4 are favourites, with #3 probably a shade in front.
