Default Moon Photos with the FZ1

Just spent some time in my front yard taking moon shots with my FZ1. I sat on the ground and braced my elbows on my knees. Full 12x optical zoom, spot focusing. No adjustments other than resizing.

Not bad, eh?

Resized picture with FZ1 at full zoom and Sony VCL-ES20 2x converter attached. Some 'man'-like cloud was passing at the time. I think the camera is capable of better moon shots. The night sky's fairly polluted with street lighting where I am, and the moon could do with moving nearer the Earth.

I have some mad idea of getting 5 eagle eye + 1.7 tcon attached to it. What do you think of that? Would I catch the Moon with that or what?

Anyway, what do you think of Eagle Eye 5? I'm really interested in the number 5 before the ""... This teleconverter is pretty popular, so I guess you have some info, too.

Sadly it will not work. I tryed it as I have the Eagle eye 5x which I use on my Nikon 950. Cut off I'm afraid. 1.7 Tcon is ok. I use one on my Oly E10 and of course had to try it when I bought the FZ1.

Cool, you are a guy with fz1 and eagle eye 5? Great! How do you mean it doesn't work? Vignetting to strong even at highest zoom? Could you post some photos? Must appreciated, thank you for your answer.
Anyway as I see here: http://www.eagleeyeuk.com/Main_Image...ple_photos.htm
it doesn't look that bad.
Do you have any other huge converter 5 or 8?

The Eagle Eye 5x lens is a great lens for the 900 Nikon series. But remember that the Nikon 950 has a filter size of only 28mm. The Zoom 37mm. So you need to fit to the Lens a 37mm to 28mm adapter. No problem as the rear element of the 5x lens is greater than the Nikon filter size. But the FZ1 has a filter size of 55mm far greater than the Eagle eye lens. Vignetting is far to great for it to work. The Eagle Eye realy is a great lens fitted to cameras with smaller filter sizes but not the Panasonic.
I would hate think of you wasting your money.

Yes, I know, thanks. This is how I would logically think about that, too. But I read in this topic
http://www.stevesforums.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8293
by a member shene, that the size of the lenses is not important. It's a very interesting topic, tell me what you think of it.

Sorry, I must have been a little bit confused. You say you tested it for yourself. I completely forgot about that. Well, now we know what doesn't fit together.
As ffar as I know all huge tconverters are so thin. Are there any bigger?
