Those fox pictures are awesome. I wish we had a place like that around here. Normally the only wild mammals I see are coyotes but they aren't nice to look at.

Steve, love #1. The way the head peeks over the grass is beautiful. Can't abide foxes, we have millions over here after they were introduced by some dill who wanted to hunt. Even in suburbia you will see them.

Mark, I suspect in the UK they are fine and do not drive smaller mammals to extinction as they do here. I also suspect that the weather keeps numbers down somewhat. Here they are in really large numbers, in fact in Melbourne suburbia numbers can get as high as 16 per square kilometre. Like many things they are fine in their natural habitat, but when taken out of that habitat problems arise.

Totally agree Raf. We have the same problems here with escapee American Mink, theyve decimated water vole populations almost to extinction, and had a detrimental effect on ground nesting birds too. Luckily numbers are now under control, although the damage has already been done.
