I know leaving it on reversed (stored) can affect the AF lamp but will it affect photos if i leave it on during bright situations? I'd rather not even take it if i can't leave it on stored. Thanks.

Hi. I have an FZ5. It will not affect your photos if you keep it on reversed, as long as you don'ttakeflash photos. Thenyou have to take it off completely, adapter included!

With the exception of some flash pictures I can not see any reason to ever not use the hood......IMHO , to not use the hood is not taking advantage of all the tools available to get the best photo you can. And its simple and free.

Sorry greyeyezz, my mistake, the adapter can stay on when using the flash, there is no shading caused by the adapter.
