found this little fella hanging on a dried reed at the local park this afternoon, and figured i'd give it a try with the ol' FZ20... this was shot at full 12x zoom, and i had the TCON-14B on...

an excellent photo. I am surprised at the clarity. How far from it were you and is that hand held?

thanks, Jerry... i was about 8 feet from the dragonfly, and yes, it was handheld, though i did fudge a little - my elbows were resting on a railing!

Nice shot Squirl. For hand held with the TCON14b the detail is amazing.

Excellent work, Rocky. You always manage to obtain the most amazing results with your FZ20. I have a TCON-14B as well as the FZ20 and even though I've got some real good pictures with the combo, they are nowhere near as good as yours. Ibelieve you mentioned once that you use spot metering. Do you still use this setting? How about contrast, saturation and sharpness, ho do you have them setup on your camera?

Very nice. Seems to be the season of dragons with patterns on their wings. Emmanuel (Macnite) has just posted one and I had just spotted one..

thanks for the kind words! yes, i still use spot metering and spotfocus when i think it will help, and it often does make a difference, especially for wildlife. i have the contrast saturation and sharpness all set at "standard" - it's easier to adjust those, if need be, in PP rather than constantly fumbling with the menu in the camera while i'm trying to compose a shot!

Very nice. As Raghu said, seems to be the season for them. Or just a good year overall.
