As a change from the large insects killing other insects of the last few posts here is some simple beauty from the yard today.

1. Sioux Water Lily. Colors change each of three days flower opens.

2. Sioux closer shot

3, Pink lily A $5.00 chain store lily years algo.

4.
Waterlily and Lotus flowers last 3 days., opening each morning and closing mid-afternoon. On day four the water lily flower just sinks into the pond. The lotus, however, opens like this. A half an hour later every petal you see here was floating on the surface of the pond.

5. Disco Bell Hibiscus

I have a soft spot for that plant myself. I started it from a seed in the mid 1980s and it is still hanging on. I divided it up once. I needed a chain saw to split it.

Thanks for commenting.
