Good stuff from your wife Gene!

I too am in line for the D300 w/grip option. I have the D200 one with grip and the other without. I have the 18-200 VRII and the 80-200mm 2.8 AF-D lens for Nikon glass. I have the 17-50mm 2.8 Di II, the 28-75mm 2.8Di and the 70-300mm 4.0-5.6 Di 1:2 macro Tamron lenses. Do you by any chance used the 1.4x TC?

I have the Kenko 1.4........It just slows down the AF too much on the lenses I have......It really does not seem to hurt the Image quality much but , the focus does slow down on the 18 to 200 and it turns the 80 to 400 into a MF lens.

I would love to try it on a 70 to 200.
