I am wondering if anyone here owns the The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5. I am getting ready to buy this at an awesome price.

Is this a pretty good camera? Does anyone have any sample shots taken with it?

Thanks!

I use the FZ5 as a small and lightweight alternative to my FZ20 and I am very pleased with it. The photos are somewhat 'crisper' than those of the FZ20. It has a very handy focus lock feature. Follow this link:

and further, to see some of the results (most are taken with the FZ5).

Hi,

I've had the fz5 since it appeared. It's a real good camera. And I'm still happy with it.

Lately I don't use it that much anymore because I fell into the dslr trap :-).

Some shots

The most I use the camera now for is when I need something small with great quality.

It preforms great at iso100 , above you'll have to use noise reduction software, but the results are still great.

I have had this camera for several years now. I think it is a fantastic little camera. Early this year, I took the plunge and bought a DSLR. I have not been impressed, mainly because to duplicate the quality of the lens in the FZ5 will take a thousand more dollars to get a 70-300mm f2.8 lens.I still take most all of my pictures with the FZ5, but use the DSLR in lower light situations where I need the higher ISO's.

My wife has the FZ5 and it takes great looking pictures. We make 8x10 prints from she shots and they look as good in print as they do on screen.
