My FZ50 is one week old today and I wonder how many pictures can one take before recharging? I have recharged it 3 times already. After taking 20-30 pics one of the 3 battery segments is gone. Is the flash eating battery?

Hi,

Go on Ebay and buy 2 extra batterys for your camera. They are real inexpensive.

Make sure they charge up ok. I bought 2 for my FZ50 and they work great with no problems. Recharge Ok-- The voltage readout after charging them up with Panasonics little wall charger was exactly the same as my original battery voltage.

Is it "dangerous" to buy unoriginal (not Panasonic) batteries? I have heard that "pirate" batteries has exploded or have poorer capacity ?

Ige-

I have used a number of non Panasonic batteries, and have never had any problems at all.

I have a pair of Chinese batteries for my FZ20 — no problems to date, I forget how old they are, but about when the FZ20 was new.
