I`m thinking about buying a FZ18 in the near future and would like to ask a few questions about it. The two biggest things for me are in regards to the view finder eye piece.

By the way, I have a FZ20 right now.

1. I wear glasses. Does the FZ18 viewfinderhave a diopter adjustment, like the FZ20 has?

2. How well does the viewfinder work in low light situations? The FZ20 viewfinder is very poor in low light.

What do you like about the FZ18?

What don`t you like about the FZ18?

Thanks in advance for your replies!

I ordered one but the online retailer is temporarily sold out. I saw one at Costco today and I was amazed by its compact size and light weight. I too have the FZ20 and I can tell you there is a huge difference between the two in terms of their build. The FZ18 feels like a toy compared to the solid feel of theFZ20. Unfortunately the camera had no battery so I could turn it on to check the EVF or LCD.

Thanks for the reply Tullio. Hopefully another FZ18 ownerwill post soon. I know it`s still a new model and there probably not many out there yet. Maybe a full in depth review will show up soon here on Steve's DigiCams.

Well, I just now did a Google search and I found the specs on the FZ18 here.

http://www.photoxels.com/panasonic-fz18.html

The specs. don`tmention anything about a diopter adjust, and low light performance, of the EVF.

Just read here:

...and the newer FZs "gain up" better in low light.

THe Fz18 does have a diopter

The EFV is high resolution, it is the best that I have come across. It is fine in low light.

I like the lens range of 28mm - 500+mm and I think the stabilisation system is amongst the best around. It is very light considering what it offers - thankfully.

I wish the auto focus was a tad faster.
