My girlfriend has a perfectly good FZ8 and it just sits in a drawer at her house unless we're on vacation, so last week I asked her to let me take it to Lubbock when I went to see my daughter at college...left my FZ50 at home, and have since also done some shooting around town with it as well...I'm not looking forward to giving it back to her now..

In this image, I set the resolution back to 3 MP, creating an optical zoom to 648mm so I could move in on my daughter in the middle of over 500 other band members..

These guys remind me of the judges in the original "Superman" movie...

New next to old..

Greg, this is an excellent series. After being used to the FZ50 the FZ8 worked very well for you. I haven't seen that many post with the FZ8 but this one really impressed me. Could it possibly be the photographer instead of the camera?

These are all great shots Greg. The 3mp EZ image is particularly impressive.I like the angles in the tall building shots too, and the stone detail in the "superman judges" shot.

A great series, sharp detail, excellent color and exposure. I love your diaganal perspectives,
and the way the flag pole extends to infinity.
In the stained glass image I like the way the light reflected inside the spiral gradually gets brighter as you approach the top.
Very fine photography.

Well, the camera worked well for you. It would be interesting to see a few shots of the same subject with both cameras if you ever have the time and inclination to do so.
