The palace is HUUUUGE - with numerous museums and exhibits. One would really need at least a couple of days to take it all in. Here a few shots to give an idea of the place.

Akagalar Gate - interior. Beyond is the Justice Pavillion where, to avoid evesdropping, the walls were especially thick, the sound of many fountains provided further screening ... and the servants were all mutes ...

Entrance to the Council Chamber. The Sultan did not attend the meetings, but relied on the Grand Vizier to report on the proceedings. However ... the Sultan had a balcony, from which he could observe the council if he chose to, with such an intricate screen that it was not possible to see whether he was present.

Thus, if the Grand Vizier failed to report accurately, he might well end up shorter by a head ....
