Has anyone had any dealings with this retailer http://www.techondigital.com/ They have some super prices on the fz-18 and the fz-50. I am just trying to avoid getting stung, thanks a lot.

2many,

Have you checked techondigital.com's rating on http://resellerratings.com/ ? You'd better!

This is the response I gave to a friend who asked me the same question two weeks ago. Since then ratings for techondigital.com has been folded into TheDigitalNerds who are, in fact, the same people. By doing so, techondigital's rating went up from 0 (out of 10) to 0.91. Whoopie!

1) I've never seen any company on resellerratings.com have a score of ZERO!

2) I've never seen any company on resellerratings.com have entirely "Very Dissatisfied" comments.

3) I can't believe the prices they have on the suggested accessories for the FZ-18. A multifunction USB card reader for $89.99 that you can find elsewhere for under $10. A 1GB SD card (no speed mentioned, hence I assume slow) for $69.99 when you can get them (the slow ones) for under $20. A 2-year service plan for $69.99 when you should get 1-year included with the purchase (but you won't because they're most likely selling you a gray-market camera that comes with no US warranty).

4) Don't even get me going about their conversion lenses.

[Edit: Spell check is your friend!]

:evil:STAY AWAY FROM THIS Site.
To good to be true. I'm only going to state the facts, you make the call.
I ordered a garmin GPS from them.
I recieved an email that they needed to talk to me.
I called them to see what's up.
They said I didn't order a SD card with my GPS and I needed one.
I told them I have several already, I don't want one. (there price was way high.)
I didn't hear anything from them for a week and I called them to see what's up.
They told me It was now on back order and it would be at least 2 months till I get it.
I told them it said in stock and ship right away when I ordered it and they said it was a mistake.
I cancelled the order and I sent an email stating this.
I emailed them several times to remove my account information from their site and called them to do this also.
This started on DEC 18 or so. It is still in their computer today 1/20/09
My card security # is also shown.
ON 1/12/09 MY CREDIT CARD was compromised. I used this card for years and never a problem.
You be the judge...!!!
MY opinion STAY AWAY.
