I Was just about ready to order an FZ18 then I read a bunch of posts everywhere about the dreaded 'blue banding' problem. Too bad, as Amazon has the FZ18 for $329 right now.

If you have used an FZ50 feel free to shoot some tips this way!

Merry Christmas!!

PS

Note to Steve:

I think we live pretty close. I'm in Largo

You will love the FZ-50 I am sure, I just took delivery of my FZ-18 and so far no blue banding. From what I have read it is just a few that have that problem. Oh and I got mine from Vanns for $324.

I am sure you will not be disappointed with the FZ50. It gives you lots of control and produces, for my kind of work at least, excellent results.
I have had mine for over a year now and love the camera.
Congratulations and good luck!

Wow! Just got it and played around with it yesterday. What an impressive camera! The macro is so easy to use and the stabilizing system is awsome. I'm off work tomorrow so you all guess what I'm going to do.

Enjoy your FZ50. I am sure I would if I had one, but so far I enjoy my FZ18.

About this blue banding: Have yet to see it in a photo. Have seen the left side of screen be bluer then right under adverse conditions such as shooting South over the lake so the light is not in a good place. But that is not a flaw in my opinion.
