I'm not a big fan of Real Player and I'm going nuts trying to figure out how to compress a 44 MB movie that played for 33 seconds (yikes) to send out by email. (already uploaded my little movie to my computer--just so anyone knows)

anyone have any advice or suggestion on how to do it?

eta: I switched from realplayer (or was it quicktime?) to Windows Media and it works fine...may have to force it to use the application....but the biggest issue I have now is to figure out how to resize the video.

You can convert the MOV file to something else but I am not sure of Email size.

I don't know why it's considered so easy to use it, to me it's confusing.

I've NO idea how it really works to convert .mov to .wmv ~ it's all greek to me LOL

HOWEVER....I found a way to COMPRESS the movie by using Windows Media Encoder 9 from 44 MB to 4.75 MB.

so....how to make the movies small while filming ....I don't want to end up having to compress a movie AFTER I upload to my hard drive.

here's the chart of how much I can film and how big I want it:

so in other words....if I want to make a 2 minute film and I can only afford at *least* 2-3 MB how do I compress that in my camera?

oh~ one other thing: not sure what I did when I compressed my movie with the Encoder, the properties would say it's Windows format, but when I play it, it's playing on Real Player... OY.
