Terry,

#1 - Wood Stork (in my mind, one of the ugliest birds around)

#2 - Tricolored Heron

#3 - Female Anhinga (sometimes called the Snake Bird because of how it looks while swimming with its body completely submerged)

#4 - Roseate Spoonbill

I'd never have been able to identify all your birds if it weren't for the great group of people that I went birding with each Wednesday morning last winter/spring at the Loxahatchee NWR.

I made the same Black Point circuit last spring while I was driving north for the summer but most everything had already left for northern climes. (I especially wanted to see the flocks of roseate spoonbills that you got to see.) I'm going to try to make a trip to Merritt Island earlier in the season this coming year.

Dick,

Thanks again for identifing the birds, If you plan to get up this way, let me know I go out to merritt island a couple times a week this time of year, and there is always something new.

BTW the rosetta spoonbill is a rare sighting in the winter, but there are a few there right now. they are more common in the spring.

Terry
