This is a scanned postcard as it was impossible to get a full close up of the ship due to the docking facility.

This is from across the Mississippi from the ship.

Getting to the ship.

The next photos are various ones of the ship.

Overall length from the points sticking out from the ship is 93.6 feet.

Beam is 17.3 feet

Length on deck is 66 feet

Sail area is 1,919 sq. feet

Looks about like a cajun pirogue with sails.:G Don't think I would have crossed the ocean on it.

A nice series. Tall ships are pretty amazing with all those ropes and pulleys everywhere. I am glad others sailed them and not me. Thanks for documenting and sharing.

A nice series Jerry. The endurance of the men that sailed these ships must of been remarkable, so many months in "tight and smelly" quarters.

I really enjoyed these shots Jerry, it is amazing to me how small the ships really were.

Thanks, Emmanuel and Ted for viewing and commenting. Like both of you, I feel the same way about crossing the ocean in such fashion. But, I think we have to try and imagine what life was like in their day, we may have been onboard. Looking for the better life.
