Used to use the under-foot string "instant tripod" some fifty years ago — it wasn't a new idea even then.

The more things change, the more they stay the same...

This reminds me of the "lens pen" when they first came out (in the 90' I think it was) all the photo mags were harping on them as the greatest idea since film itself. Then last year some one gave me some camera equipment that had been in a closet for 50 years. I looked in the bag and saw a tube that I though was lip stick. Nope! It was lens cleaner with a brush that came out of one end and a covered cleaning pad on the other.
