I think it is a mantis, but it is so small- just about an inch - probably a young one?

Hiding on a curled leaf, it was difficult to catch on the camera.

Very nice capture. Its nice to see green leavesand bugs again. Its still very cold and lots of snow up here.

Very nice close-ups. It is a mantis, but with fully developed wings, it is an adult - just a small species.

Thanks for viewing and the comments; It remains on the same leaf for almost two days now - I even measured it today - it's just 1.4 cm!

definetely a mantis and beautifully caught. Sometimes they stay on the same leaf for a long time, especially if its a tasty one. It might also have a problem flying.
