The bird is a Lesser Black-backed Gull. The snow is lake effect snow. Which means a mile inland at my house it might not have been snowing at all, but right on the shore it was pretty heavy. Happens with the Great Lakes.

I had not even noticed that until you said something. Bad cropping. is what it is.

(Edited later to add) I replaced photo so white line should be gone now.

Whew, thanks. Like Emmanuel I was looking for the white line. Then I re-read each post. I have to do that sometime.

Nice capture, Steve. Don't seem to get out much right now. Bayoubelle got me into putting in new flooring through most of the house. :POf course, that has led to other progjects that need to be done. Today, I told her if she ever mentions new floors to me again, I just might shoot her.Just kidding, the floors are nice, but now she wants everything else to be redone. I told her it was time to find a new groom.

Impressive shot, Steve, considering the harsh conditions.
