Some snaps at the very famous Meenakshi temple, Madurai. Renovation work is going on, so all the entrance towers are covered. That was one of the 'Dwarabalakas' who usually stand guard at the entrance of a shrine. The mythical creature 'Yaali' is the most common feature for pillars. One of them is seen sniffing sunbeam here.

Even the ceilings are decorated. A sample of the hundres of varying patterns drawn on the ceiling of the corridor.
