1. Set the LCD Mode to Auto adjust the brightness instead of leaving it on power LCD all the time.

2. Turn off theAuto Review that shows each image after you take it.

3. Do not turn on continuous AF unless you really need it.

4. Set the Auto LCD mode to turn off the LCD after 15 seconds of non-use.

5. Set the flash to forced off.

Those the are the settings I can think of you should utilize to maximize battery power.

I really don't see why people have problems with their battery life because on most of my trips, I can easily exceed 500 full resolution pictures, including video and lots of zoom. Greg hit all themain pointers.Anyways, here is what I do:

1. turn off Continuous AF.

2. forced flash off

3. LCD brightness to lowest setting (more than bright enough

4. I DO keep auto review ON @ 2s.

5. I Always have the LCD ON

6. OIS Mode 2 -I believe this one sucks up lots of power

7. set on iA Mode - don't know if this really helps

8. Whenever I'm wandering around looking for pictures, I turn the camera off.

and I think that's about it. Let us know how many shots you can sqeeze out of a single charge.
