Default fz1 + tcon17 = zoom x20 | fz10 + ? = zoom x20

hi
with our fz1's we can put a tcon17 and have a zoom of 20x, but the new fz10 will have a lens of 72mm.. which lens we will use in that case?
anyone knows?

It looks like panasonic is making a 1.5x tele converter for the fz10

Default Panasonic 1.5 Teleconverter

A very pricy teleconverter. Seems like it was close to $350.00 US.

Would tcon17 work with FZ10 using 72mm-55mm step down ring? That is quite a step down. Cant even find the ring on ebay.

i don't know.. i guess if in fz1 you get a lot of vigneting(?) with fz10 will be almost impossible to don't have.. but well.. that's what i think.. i don't know..

Default Lots of glass

> A very pricy teleconverter. Seems like it was close to $350.00 US.

Well, the tcon14b for the oly e10/20 (62mm) is about $150 now. A lot of quality optical glass is needed to maintain f2.8 at 1.5x for 72mm. It would be worth
it if you need the extra telephoto range and it has no CA and increased optical distortion.
If my oly c2100 dies the fz10 may fit the bill.
BTW, I can use the tcon17 with a 49-55 mm step up
ring on my 35mm film 50mm & 100mm lenses and with a
49-52 mm step up ring on my tokina zoom. A real slr
teleconverter is a lot smaller but doesn't maintain the maximum apeture since it increases the lens' distance from the film plane.

FZ10 has 72mm Lens threads. Wouldn't you have to use extreeme optical zoom on camera to use a 55mm end thread teleconverter to avoid viginetting? ?sp)
