Default FZ10 - Manual functions in Macro Mode?

Macro mode is selected on the mode dial which means you can't select the A/S/M mode at the same time. Does this mean that all macro shots must be done in AE mode, or is there some other way to make manual settings in macro mode?

Default For Panasonic Bob

Somehow the post about FZ10 macro ability went unnoticed, or pehaps it wasn't worded clearly enough, so I'll repeat the question:
Macro mode is selected on the "mode dial". A/S/M is also selected on the "mode dial". Does this mean that there is no manual control of aperture and shutter speed when shooting macros?

Thanks,
Dave N

Is it different on other cameras?

Default Macro Ability

Alexo,

On my Oly C2100 macro mode is selected via a separate button which means you can set the mode dial to aperture priority, shutter priority or full manual.

On the FZ10, once you have selected "macro" on the mode dial you apparently have lost the ability to select A/S/M.

Aperture and Shutter priority are not enabled in Macro mode.

Is Macro mode fully automatic are can you change any of the parameters?

It's Auto, but you have a + / - 2 EV (incremental) adjustment.

This means that I have no control over depth of field. I assume the camera will select the smallest practical f-stop to maximize DOF, but I have no control of shutter speed to freeze a flower that's blowing in the wind. A separate macro button would have been preferable.

I agree, but it is what it is...
It's performed pretty well in my testing so I don't have any concerns right now.
