This is the normal, wide angle view, no zoom:

This is the maximum zoom, 18X, I can get at full resolution (10mp).

If I reduce the resolution to 3mp, this is a solid 34X I get! You can also have a look at another example I have posted at http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=30574566

Great show, Raghu! Thank you for sharing.

Truly amazing zoom on thiscamera. There must have been very clean (dry?) air between you and this far away tower, because there is almost no sign of smog or any other air-pollution.

I find the same here in Norway, when I am out shooting landscape. It's always clearer on a cold day.

I must experiment with this Mega-zoom, but I have to buy a tripod first.

Raghu,

Yes, the 32x zoom do come in handy when you need it.

By the way was it hand held or mounted on a tripod ?

Thanks for the response. It was hand held, that is what makes it more interesting. I need to try with a tripod to see how much difference it makes.
