I'm helping a friend with her FX9, which worked great until she flew abroad, now all of the outdoor (bright) shots are almost entirely washed out. Indoor shots seem normal. I've looked at all of the settings, nothing seems amiss, although I'm certainly no expert with the settings.

Could there possibly be physical damage caused by a metal detector at an airport?

Thank you.

Hi CTPhil,

Airport checks such as X-ray machines or metal detectors don't damage cameras. My cameras have been subject to these checks quite a few times (at different airports), and nothing happened. My colleagues never experienced anything like this before either -We work at a major airport, and are checked daily.

I'd advice to have an experienced person look at it, or take it to the shop.

Thanks. So it does sound like a hardware problem?
