Default Make that shutter stay open

Any hints on how to slow the shutter speed, like to take pictures of a waterfall? I already have an NDx8 filter and I even set the camera to ISO 50, but the shutter only stayed open about 1/2 second.

Thank you

BTW, this is on the FZ1

A trip down memory lane PrmseKpr when we were young and carefree :

15 or so posts down were my suggestions on this for what they're worth.

Must get back to dpreview and have another go at summoning up enthusiasm for a FZ FAQs web page. Wha'd'ya reckon? Would you contribute?

Hey Norm!

Ok, I guess I failed to mention that the camera was in night portrait mode and it turns out I had it on ISO 100 and not ISO 50, but I did find a pix that turned out half-way decent. I will post the link later (I'm uploading the pix as I type).

Sure, I'd be interested. I might even be interested in hosting it. I was considering making a "FZ1 Fan Site" What do you think?

A great idea and I think it could be a fantastic resource too. Here's certainly hoping you can make this happen

Ok, here are some pictures with the NDx8 filter:

You can compare them to some pictures I took in May w/o a filter:

Me make it happen? I thought you were going to make it happen!

This morning I was thinking about an FZx e-book. Of course, being in the states I don't have access to an FZ2. Also, I don't really anticipate going out and getting an FZ10 (unless there is a **** REALLY GOOD DEAL **** ) so, I would need to have other contributors.

Nice waterfall piccies. Maybe you'll need to get there at dawn or dusk to see what results you get with a shutter speed of 8 seconds.

Here's the dpreview thread on the proposed FZ cameras website :
