Saw this bird, the Oriental Magpie Robin, but unfortunately, the background was rather dull (the wall of an old house), so just kept the bird and edited the background - opaque in the first pic and about 50% transparent in the second one.

The transparancy has brought the two other wires I had masked in the previous photo.

Nice work, to my eye anyway. Do you use Photoshop or Gimp? (or something else?)

Thanks for looking. That was done with Gimp.

Very nice photos here. Are you still using the FZ30 or have you gone on to something else? These are so sharp and clear and so close! I've yet to get a clear pic of a bird that isn't just a little blurred somehow. "sigh" alas... I'm still working on it though.

Thanks again for sharing your lovely pics.

Thanks, Teree. I have upgraded to FZ28; Earlier, I had FZ3 (not 30). In all my bird shots you see here, the birds were quite some distance away. It is only the IS that enabled me to get sharp pictures and the generous 10MP that kept the pictures good even when cropped. Of course, GIMP had a small role in enhancing the sharpness too. Hope to see your pictures soon!
