Default What Accessories to get with new camera

After much reading I have decided to get the Panasonic FZ 35. I may order it tonight. I was wondering what accessories would be good to get with the camera? Is there something that you all think is a must?

Thanks

A spare battery (third party OK)--battery life is excellent (400+ shots) but some day you'll be glad you have a fully charged spare with you.

A couple of extra SD cards--they DO go bad now and then. I opted for a couple of 8 gig cards rather than one 16 gig card.

A case. My FZ28, battery, cable, charger, and filters fit nicely into a small DSLR case I got at WalMart.

Some people like to put a UV filter over the lens to protect it. I'll stay out of that argument, but if you get one, the size is 46mm and make sure you get one that's multicoated.

I thought that I read somewhere that you now have to use Panasonic brand batteries due to the firmware on the FZ-35/38 camera.

Default I don't know where you read that

But it's wrong. Many owners of FZ35/38 cameras are reporting that their cameras work with third party batteries.

The battery part number specified for the FZ35/38 is the same battery as specified for the FZ18/28. Not a chipped battery.

Don't believe everything you read. Or search and read more.

Thanks for straightening out the battery spec on the FZ-35 out for me.

Default Fz 35

Received my FZ 35 from B&H last night.....so far so good.

Was wondering if I should use the 46mm UV Haze Glass Filter they offer as an accessory
