Default Just ordered FZ35

Hi everyone,

I just needed to tell someone that would appreciated this.

I can't wait to receive it. I've been a Canon gal for a long time and was a bit hesitant to try something new. However, I've done a lot of reading online and no matter how I spin it, this camera keeps coming up as the one for me. I've been to Future Shop and was able to play with all the contenders (Canon G11, SX20, Panasonic FZ35) and the FZ35 felt good in my hands. The SX20 is very heavy, which was a real turn-off.

Anyway, I'm going to go through this forum and do some more reading while I wait for it's arrival. Any tips or gotchas that I should know about?

the FZ35 is one of the premier superzooms. image quality is solid, feature set is great, great video, and one of the best lenses in this genre.

as for tips, some of our users have a favorite setting they like for shooting with flash, you may be able to find it in some other threads related to the FZ35.

I have the FZ28 and think it's a great camera but from what I've read, the FZ35 is even better. The only piece of advise I have for you is to stay away from the iA mode. People expect the iA mode to produce the best quality images but I don't believe it's true. The FZ35 offers all sorts of manual controls and settings. Make good use of them.

I'm very excited. I'm hoping it will arrive tomorrow. The first place I ordered from showed that they had stock online, but I received an email saying that they were backordered and did not have a date regarding availability. I cancelled my order and found another source and called to make sure they had some in stock before placing my order. It's on it's way! Glad to hear that people are loving these cameras.
