Default FZ35: Aperture locks up in S-Priority

Not sure if anyone experienced. I see sometimes, the Aperture gets locked up at f8.0 and even changing SS did not help.

Even If I change the subject distance its still at f8.0.

I basically switch to other mode and then come back to Shutter priority to reset.

I have few days to return, if you think its a problem.

What was the shutter speed you set? If it was 1/2000, the camera will only select f8. Changing SS to 1/1600 should allow you f5.6 to 8 and 1/1300, f4 to 8. Only when you select shutter speeds of 1/1000 and less can you go into other f stops. See table from manual below. This is for my FZ28, and I think this will apply to FZ35 too. If even after changing SS the aperture remains stuck at f8, I think you should return the camera.

Thanks Raghu for taking pain in scanning and posting the above list. I do see that in my manual. But the speed is not 1/2000. It was at a max of 200 or 400.
