Default Sticky: Why not start your own sticky?

OK, this is not a real sticky! I just wanted to make sure I got your attention!

Sticky's are just normal thread's that the Moderator's have agreed to Stick permanently at the top of the folder/forum for easy access.

Whether you are new or a loyal member of Steve's, suggesting a Sticky to a moderator is a great way to keep a common subject visible to everyone, and in the process creates a valuable central resource that is easy to find and stays active.

So if you have an idea for a Sticky, why not ask one of our friendly moderators? It is ultimately their call, but I'm sure if it is a sensible and in-demand topic, they'll give it serious consideration.

Just my 2c worth...

Greg, Hi.
Sometimes too many "Sticky's" on a forum can be a bit painful too.
Getting the right balance is key!
My 2 Cents!
Regards

Hi Greg,

Adding to what dbnnet has written, alternatives that I've seen, and that work well, are an FAQ section and judicious use of the search function.

Cheers,
Mark

Agreed - I noticed that over at cameralabs. I guess for it to work successfully, proactive (not pimples ) moderators that assess Sticky's that have had no activity for a certain time, and then "un-Sticky" them is required...
