Default ZS3 v TZ7 differences ??

Hi All,

been using this site for quite a few years but never posted till now

am looking at replacing my casio ex-z1000 which i've had for a good few years and as seen better days.

been looking at the ZS3 and TZ7, i know they are the same camera (us/uk model numbers), the ZS3 as got longer video recording times but are there any other differences i should be made aware of ????

can get a ZS3 for around 190 with a free cheapo 8gb card but the cheapest TZ7 (no card) i've seen is 220 so don't want to pay more for a camera that may have less features

thx in advance for any replies

cheers

Welcome to the Forum and to the Panasonic P+S folder.

With the exception of the video recording times the ZS3 (USA Name) and the TZ-7 (UK name) are the same. You folks in the UK have another bonus that we here in the USA do not have.

You have the availability of the TZ-65. The TZ-65 could save you some mode and it has excellent image quality.

If you want a smaller camera size, and can cope with a bit less zoom, the ZR1 with the new imager and the advanced OIS is currently at a bargain price of less than $(US)200.00 her in the USA. It has excellent image quality.

I have attached a ZR1 hand held maco.

Have you looked at any issues with regard to NTSC/PAL playback of the videos? I think the ZS3 only allows NTSC playback while the TZ7 allows you the option of PAL or NTSC output.

that shouldn't be a problem as my LED TV and blue-ray/dvd player plays both formats plus i mainly play camera recorded videos's on my PC anyways
